Naruto Shippuuden Episode 120 is titled "Kakashi Chronicles ~ Boys' Life on the Battlefield ~ Part 2" or "Kakashi Gaiden ~ Senjō no bōizuraifu ~ Kōhen" was aired on July 30, 2009. This episode relates that, as Obito finds Rin and the Hidden Rock ninja, he is detected by them. When Obito is attacked, Kakashi arrives and saves him. As the battle progresses, Kakashi loses his left eye. Obito manages to awaken his Sharingan, and kills the Rock ninja. As Kakashi and Obito manage to distract the second Rock ninja, they manage to save Rin. Before leaving however, as the Rock ninja uses his Earth Style Ninjutsu, the cave begins collapsing. When a massive rock falls on Obito and crushes his right side completely, Obito decides to give his Sharingan to Kakashi, as a gift for his promotion. Before dying he asks Kakashi to protect Rin. After that, Kakashi kills the Rock ninja using his Chidori, and he declares that he will protect Rin. After he awakes and he finds out that Rin is safe, he destroys the bridge, completing his mission.
