NBA League officials thought that APL Concept 1 give unfair competition to players, thus the issuance of the ban. They say that APL Concept 1 increases the vertical jump of its wearer, which primarily the objective of the shoe's design, and that it poses serious performance issue.
APL Concept 1 is not the first of its kind. The same controversy emerged when the shoe named 'Air Jordan' came out in some 25 years ago or so, due to very rich color design.
