23 Died 160 Missing in Earthquake-Triggered Tsunami in Indonesia

A great many houses were destroyed by humongous waves after the 7.7 magnitude quake, which struck 13 miles (20km) under the ocean floor near the Mentawai Islands.
Although the population of Mentawi Island is not big, the place is popular as a surfing spot and reports said that a group of Australian Nationals went missing after the said Tsunami.
Unfortunately a very bad weather condition hinders the progress of the search and rescue operation. The heavy rain hampered the helicopters from accessing the area and boats cannot reach the islands either, because the landing pier on the island of South Pagai has been completely smashed.
There was no Tsunami Warning System on the Mentawi Islands, actually initial reports about whether a tsunami had actually reached the island were a confusion. The devastating news is that, there were children who were swept away by the huge waves. My prayers goes to the people of Mentawi Islands.
